Journey ๐ #
My curiosity pushed me out of my hometown of Milan (Italy) to the vibrant city of Copenhagen (Denmark) at the age of 21. This move fueled my academic journey, transitioning from a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano to a M.Sc. in Digital Media Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (formally, Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, or DTU), with a specialization in Data Science and Big Data. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to have studied in the cutting-edge environments of both these universities.
My Master’s project, titled The Role of Divisive Topics in Network Structure, involved a large-scale analysis of controversial online conversations on Twitter with socio-political contexts. It aimed to develop a model that predicts the long-term effects of ideological polarization on how users interact within social media networks.
Since 2016, I’ve called Copenhagen home. I’ve embraced the Danish lifestyle, and the city offers fantastic access to green spaces, cycling infrastructure, and a thriving cultural scene.
Career ๐จโ๐ป #
In Copenhagen, I landed my first software development role at MAN Diesel & Turbo, followed by an exciting opportunity at Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen, where I found a work environment that perfectly aligns with my values and stimulates continuous learning and growth. This is what I love most about being a software engineer: the constant push to adapt, learn from failures, and grow to overcome new challenges. But it’s not just about the code: effective communication and collaboration are key to building high-quality software.
I’m inspired by collaborative and supportive teams, where individuals are empowered to learn from each other, share ideas and experiences, openly discuss challenges, build meaningful connections, and celebrate each other’s successes. Furthermore, I believe a truly enriching work environment fosters diversity in all its forms. This creates a rich variety of perspectives that fuels innovation and challenges me to see problems from different angles. Being surrounded by talented and passionate colleagues motivates me to push myself further and strive for excellence.
Beyond Coding ๐ #
When I’m not coding, you would most likely find me either spending time to learn something new, doing physical activity, cooking healthy meals, or listening to electronic music. I consume loads of news and content about self-development, fitness, society, politics, traveling and cultures, science, technology, the environment and climate change (on a related note, I’m a big fan of Kurzgesagt, I highly recommend checking out their videos on YouTube).
I enjoy video editing and showcasing my work on my YouTube channel. I’m also a passionate language learner on Duolingo and a proud Google Maps Local Guide, sharing valuable feedback and content with the community.
